Twice each day, campers attend instrument classes focusing on their chosen instrument and rehearsal sessions with their band. Each camper is placed in a band under the direction of a faculty band director. DayJams makes every effort to group students into bands by age and musical preference. Band leaders guide their groups through a team-oriented process of writing, rehearsing, and performing an original song.
Our curriculum includes instruction in songwriting, ensemble playing, and stage presence. Student-to-staff ratio is 5-to-1 and our student-to-teacher ratio is 8-to-1. DayJams campers also take part in lunch, recreation breaks, and daily clinics which include instructional and entertaining presentations by staff members or special guest artist or band performances.
