About DayJams

A Typical Day

A Typical Day | Live! In Concert | Activities

A young guitarist Twice each day, campers attend instrument classes focusing on their chosen instrument and rehearsal sessions with their band. Each camper is placed in a band under the direction of a faculty band director. DayJams makes every effort to group students into bands by age and musical preference. Band leaders guide their groups through a team-oriented process of writing, rehearsing, and performing an original song.

Our curriculum includes instruction in songwriting, ensemble playing, and stage presence. Student-to-staff ratio is 5-to-1 and our student-to-teacher ratio is 8-to-1. DayJams campers also take part in Art Class where they design and create promotional materials for their band, lunch, recreation breaks, and daily clinics which include instructional and entertaining presentations by staff members or special guest artist or band performances.
